Stonehaven's Open Day

On 15th May 2010 local Community Groups in Stonehaven worked with Northsound1, Mearns FM and the Press and Journal to organise an event to let everyone know that Stonehaven was open for business after many businesses had been closed for several months after flooding on 1st November 2009.Plenty special offers were available on the day and all activities were geared towards getting people to visit local Businesses. North Sound held a Road Show with John Mellis from 9am to 12 noon and in the afternon Mearns FM broadcast from the Market Square and provided some live entertainment.

KMAP were pleased to support the efforts by providing a Development officer to help co-ordinate the events for the day and by making a financial contribution of £1,000 towards the overall cost.

George McGillivray, Chair of Stonehaven Business Association said "We greatly appreciated the considerable effort from the KMAP representative as well as the financial contribution. The day was a great success and went a long way to helping people forget about the destruction caused by the flooding".
